YT-Studio is a GUI for yt-dlp, which is licensed under GPL-2.0. Downloading content for personal use is generally legal in most countries. Always respect platform terms of service and copyright laws in your jurisdiction. We do not host any content.

Does it work with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram…?

If yt-dlp supports a site, YT-Studio downloads from it. That's 1,000+ platforms including YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, SoundCloud, Dailymotion, Bilibili, and hundreds more. Run yt-dlp --list-extractors for the full list.

Do I need to install Python or FFmpeg?

No. The installer is a single self-contained .exe that bundles Python 3.12, yt-dlp, PyQt6, and FFmpeg. Nothing else needed. Just install and run.

Why does it look like a DOS program?

Because it should. We built a retro phosphor-green CRT terminal aesthetic on purpose — it looks distinctive, reads clearly, and frankly it's a lot more fun than another grey SaaS dashboard. The design works. Embrace it.

How do donations work?
